Brotherly Asean Love

Brought to my attention by a certain receptionist:

"This should not be viewed as Indonesia causing the problem and exporting the problem to other countries in ASEAN, which is very upset with Indonesia. If we put it this way, then we complicate the problem further, in terms of resolving it. Indonesia will feel rather defensive and it'll get upset and it's not a very good way of doing this," said Mohamed Jawhar Hassan, Chairman and CEO, Institute of Strategic and International Studies, Malaysia.

Right, in the name of brotherly Asean love, we shouldn't be upset with Indonesia. Instead we should be sorry for being situated so near to Indonesia. If we need to blame someone or something, it should be the forces of nature for their plate tectonic movements millions of years ago. It should had pop us up somewhere closer to Australia, at least then, we could have enjoy cheaper airfares to Down Under.
