天下没不散的宴席

Ask all dog owners, the most dreadful thing would be the day that their beloved canine pal migrate to puppy heaven. Paid a visit to mypugsblog and I read that Gizmo, a pug owned by the blog owner's friend passed on. Below is the first line of the blog entry that Gizmo's owner wrote about its passing on:

This is the hazard of giving your heart to a furry friend; they can't stay as long as you'd like.

Harsh but true. How many of us are mentally prepared for the day that our beloved pets moved on? I remembered witnessing a JC classmate breaking down and dashed out of the classroom in the middle of a lesson. The reason behind the very public display of emotion was due to her dog passing on the night before. While there may be numerous telltale signs leading to the doggie's demise, no amount of mental preparation could prepare us for the day. I guess the Chinese saying "天下没不散的宴席" is true, eventually all good things must come to an end.

RIP Gizmo.
