After studying BF212 for god knows how many hours, i decided to apply what i learn to my daily life. Skipping various tedious and complicated steps which i deemed more sophisticated than the Black Scholes PDE model, i had derived the below equation: MY MOOD= kNEWCASTLE'S PERFORMANCE which k is a constant and the two variables self explanatory. The equation in layman terms simply means that my mood is proportional to Newcastle United's performance. For example, if Newcastle draws with Norwich City, my mood will be bad. Another example would be if Newcastle loses 1-nil to a team like Partisan Belgrade in a Championship Qualifier, my mood will hit rock bottom and will be depressed for weeks. PS: The above examples are fictional and if it represent any real life incidents, it is purely coincidental.

Alot of negative things had been going on for the past week or so. The most pertinent issue is university life, there's so much negative karma in there for me right now. School work, particularly bloody BF212,projects and hall life(or the lack of one) made me one unhappy camper. The word FUN simply doesnt apply for me at the moment while in school, so much so i have to scamper home to find out what is it like to be FUN once again. What is happening at Newcastle certainly isnt helping either. A week time in Tyneside is like a season worth for other clubs. First was Sir Bobby fussing over selection problems due to the conjunctivis outbreak, next Mr Bling Bling Dyer refused to play for Bobby which leads to Mr Bling Bling being savaged by his own fans at St James Park during the international fixture. And what began as a joke headline on Thursday morning turned into a full blown nightmare later in that day when Woodie was shipped to Real Madrid for 13.4 mil pounds. Instead of using the money to find for a quality replacement, dear Fat Fred bidded 20 mil pounds for prostitute humping fat boy Rooney! Maybe he had a penchant for players that have the same hookers patronizing habit as him. This is becoming farcical and isnt helping the supporters confidence at all. OH what a fucked up life im having......

Heeding the government's call to groom more multilingual Singaporeans, NTU has started this innovative language program termed as " Learning Hokkien through Cheering". To prepare its undergraduates for potential career opportunities in Taiwan, the Student Affairs Department had instructed all Freshmen camps to incorporate the Hokkien dialect into their team cheers. It might seems contradictory to the government's move back in 1980s to banish dialects from the local media so to force us to speak better Mandarin, the government has since realise Taiwan will one day take over China as the next land of golden opportunities. After then DPM Lee Hsien Loong hush hush visit to Taiwan back in early July, the government has inside information that Taiwan had amassed enough Weapons of Mass Destruction to wipe out China in less than three days. So don't be alarmed when you hear undergraduates belting out Hokkien ditties during the next FOC camp you take part.

Another weekend came and gone. In retrospect it was an interesting weekend, sans the doing the tutorials. On Saturday, i went for my first RSP Elderly session at the AWWA home in Ang Mo Kio. Wanted to join RSP Elderly since last academic year but was held back because it was held on Saturday. As mentioned in an earlier post, after volunteering at the Boys Hostel and Project Bridge last year, i found it to be meaningful and fell in love with volunteering work. Hence my saturdays will now be in the good company of the jovial senior citizens at the AWWA home. Another reason why this weekend was so special was the return of the EPL. After the Starhub and ESPN fiasco threatened to halt the screening of EPL matches, common sense prevailed and the EPL matches returned to our TV screens albeit for one weekend.(At the point of writing, Starhub and ESPN are still locked in talks over the profits from the screening) The first match pitted Loserfools against the Tottering Hotspurs. After 90 minutes, we discovered Ralf Benitez is just the Spanish moniker for Gerrad Houllier. Same style of negative play will not endear you to the fans, Senor Benitez. The late kickoff between NUFC and the Smog was a more interesting affair. Plays were more fluent and NUFC for once looked solid at the back. Butt was the catalyst for this improved defensive display and was rightly named as the Man of the Match. Alas NUFC succumbed to their old habits again and let in an injury time equaliser to the cheating handballing Jimmy Hasseilbank. Fuck. Sunday matches proved two things, Arsenal are still as invincible as ever and Jose Mourinho walked the walk and talked the talk with a solid performance over Manure. Love the cocky and self assured demeanour of Mourinho. If only he could take over Sir Bobby..... Well boys and gals, the lunar seventh month is here again. Say your prayers and dont go out at night alone. CHilL

Haven't been updating regularly as i dont want to bore the few readers i have to tears with the mundane details in my life. I reckoned that watching paint dry would be more interesting that reading what happened to me . Ok, from the past few weeks or so, i have selected a few events which I thought were more interesting than paint drying to talk about. I liken this few events to be as interesting as watching water evaporates. 1) Volunteerism Although i was interested in volunteering work before that, i didn't really have the opportunity to engage in it. After volunteering at the Singapore Boy's Hostel for a year, i discovered how meaningful it is to help the needies, how meaningful to know that a small action on your part can change the lives of others. Volunteering work fills a big void in my life. I like volunteering. 2) Public Holidays National Day is around the corner and im not particularly looking forward to it. Before you jump the gun and starts calling me traitor, let me present my case. It is funny how a few years change our perception of public holidays. In the past, especially those years in green, we used to look forward to public holidays. As we moved on to our tertiary education, public holidays are almost on the same level as plague(as least in my own humble opinion). Public holidays mean rescheduling of lessons at unearthly hours. So in conclusion, public holidays= evil for an university undergraduate. 3) Winning Eleven 8 Winning Eleven 8 is finally out. Although the frame rates still suffer during free kicks and corner kicks, the overhaul of the animations to make it even more realistic and the addition of some nifty moves makes it the best WE series to date. Which means more sleepless nights for me. 4) Qi Li Xiang Jay Chou's latest album is out too. Listened to it a few times, found it to be better than his previous two offerings, but still pales to his first two albums. Enjoyed track 1,2 and 7 so far, hopefully after a few more spins, other songs will grow on me.
