Cyprus bra-chain sets new record Women in Cyprus have set a new record by forming the longest chain of bras in the world, organisers say. The stunt was part of a campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer and encourage more regular check-ups. Dutch, British and Cypriot organisers formed a 111km (70 miles)-long chain, eclipsing a 60km record which was held by Singapore. The chain consisted of nearly 115,00 bras, with contributions from as far afield as Alaska. It took volunteers almost a year to collect the underwear, and over eight hours to clip them together, eventually forming over 200 lines of bras up and down the length of Paphos pier. Pink balloons "We've done it... we have broken the record for sure," Dutch organiser Louise van Rooij told AFP news agency. As the last bra was attached, 111 pink balloons - the colour of the breast cancer awareness emblem - were released. "It feels unbelievable, it's a very emotional time and I'm very proud of everyone. We have the record and how," said Ms van Rooij. Officials said the larger size of bras worn by Western women than those used to set the Singapore record helped them reach further. Ms van Rooij said the campaign had already achieved a measure of success, with a reported 30% increase in the number of women inquiring about check-ups amid the publicity. "There is a taboo in Cyprus in talking about breast cancer and we would rather women went for regular checks than go to prayers," she said. Story from BBC NEWS:

Welcome to another episode of UlcerWatch. I'm your friendly neighbourhood watchdog, Constable Ah Fat. This is an update of the situation regarding the recent mushrooming of unsavoury ulcers in the neighbourhood. Attempts to eradicte them from the pretinct has been fruitless. Usage of mouthwash and oral medication were only able to contain the growth of existing ulcers, while a strong dose of hydraulic (read: drinking tonne of water) action has only led to a faulty sanitation system. (read: frequent trips to the toilet) Since the previous episode, there have been more sightings of shady looking ulcers in the community. An informant informed us that another ulcer operating under the tongue while our patrols have spotted a juvenile loitering around the lower lip region. The ulcers community are extremely dangerous and citizens are advised to steer clear of them and inform the relevant authorities immediately. Perhaps the pigs, whose tongues i had eaten over the years, got together in Piggies Heaven and place a hex on me. With the examination a week away, my tongue is populated with an ulcer of the size of a nostril hole and several other ulcers on my lips. If i am still a tiny pre-schooler, the Ministry of Health would probably deem me as a serious Hand Foot Mouth Disease (HMFD) carrier and quarantine me for a year.
My cause also wasn't help by the fact that i kept snacking on some tasty keropoks* over the past week and drank less than the recommended amount of water. Due to my klutz-like nature, i went through numerous painful mishaps and thought i have developed a high threshold for pain. However, this bloody ulcer makes me rediscovers what pain feels like again, and i actually teared when food particles come into contact with the ulcer. With the ulcers community in my mouth, I have to make some changes in my living habits so as not to aggravate the pain. Like how i need to tilt my head to one side while chewing my foot, stick out my tongue out while drinking, having abundance of tissues on hand to swipe away the steady stream of saliva and refrain from sign language to communicate. *Fried crackers Random Picture of the Day  夜晚再黑我当看不见，太阳一定就会出现。 :)

1. Hunt for karate legend goes cold Three Singaporeans on a mission to find a karate legend have been found huddled in an abandoned car on a north Japanese mountainside, local media reports say.
