Another weekend spent at the Orchard shopping belt and I finally managed to expend my 100 dollars Takashimaya voucher at the third attempt. However the highlight of the day wasn't the stuffs I managed to buy, but the hour spent watching a busking performance along the bustling Orchard Road. Yes, no typing errors made as I spent more time watching a busking performance than on shopping.
The buskers that managed to arrest the attention of the busy shoppers? A percussion outfit consisting 11 guys and a kiddo. Unlike other busking acts where the artists have minimal interaction with the crowd, their performances were full of energy and got the crowd pumped up and gyrate and clap along to the beats of their music. The guys were certainly enjoying their performances and also the adulation of the gathering crowd as they laughed and danced to their own beats. Of course it doesn't hurt when some of the performers are extremely good looking. The guy in red certainly has the looks to grace the catwalks of Milan. The loudest cheers were administered when an Ah Ma, who appeared to be in her late sixties, went forward to tip the buskers in acknowledgment of their infectious performance, reinforcing the notion that music has no boundaries.

A long overdue meme tagged by Mabel a couple of full moons ago. Basically I have to list out 10 things starting with an alphabet chosen by the tagger, which in this case is C for Cute Becos. So here it goes..
Comatose in the pseudo sense of things, is the state I'm often in when I reach home from work. Which is probably also the reason behind the title of this post. Clueless, is what I would call myself pertaining to matters of the heart. Chris Benoit, is the name of my favourite wrestler. (Insert your own rant on how wrestling is juvenile and fake.) Chow Yun Fatt, became my favourite actor when I saw him oozing machismo in classic John Woo flick "A Better Tomorrow". Carebear, is a nickname which I'm adamant some of my friends have me calling me behind my back. Chivalry, a desired quality that is sadly lacking in most men these days. Cold, is how I feel in the office. Frostbite might one day be the No.1 killer among office workers in Singapore. Cheebye, ranks as one of my personal favourite profanities. The Brits love their cunts, while we Singaporeans (no thanks to the army) love our cheebyes. Cheebye, is also responsible for my 15 minutes of cyber fame when a blog post written on the word "cheebye" got featured on tomorrow.sg. Cheer Chen, rocks my world. Speaking of Cheer Chen, I'm undecided whether to splash out 60 bucks on two limited edition singles released by her. The packaging of the singles is so exquisite that it will aches my heart when I have to cut it open to retrieve the CDs within. Chiling Lin, rocks my world in a different way. Random Good Deed of the (Yester)Day I gave 90 cents to a young chap so he could take the bus home when all he wanted was to change his dollar coin into smaller denominations. So Ti Gong, can you kindly let me dream of the winning combination for Monday's TOTO since I'm such a nice and kind person?

While some of my friends are complaining that they aren't awarded half a day off to mark the end of a work year, I almost wept tears of joy when I was able to knock off at 1945, almost an hour earlier than normal. It's all about managing your expectations. The higher you aim, the harder you fall. Random quote of the day / Random "shamelessly ripped from the newspaper" quote of the day "Women are like diamonds. They have to be cut before they can sparkle." Annie Yi, on how pain helps women to grow. To my lady friends who went or are currently going through a rough patch in life, you will emerge a stronger and better person. Just like a finely polished diamond, a phoenix rising from the ashes, a piece of well stewed porl, a lump of well baked cow dung or..you get my drift. Cheer up!

Hohoho, Merry Christmas to all my friends, colleagues and readers of this crappy blog. Thanks for the valuable company, well wishes and also not to forget the presents (Nope, still clueless over what to do with the pair of boxers) which played a big part in making this festive season a memorable occasion. Thank you.

Guess who's back, back again.... The good news. I'm weighing in at 101kg at the moment, just 1.00000000000000001kg off the target that I set for myself 3 months ago. 3kg lost in the 1st month of employment. I love my job, woot! So what is your opinions on the TV mobile ad starring Benjamin Heng of Eating Air fame? Here's mine.Who in the f*cking right frame of mind would pay money to install something so drab and irritating (till the extent that I wish I could lose my sense of sight and hearing whenever i stepped onto a SBS bus) on their laptop? The powers that be claim that they empathize and understand when they lay down the policies, someone should install the vile TV mobile onto their laptop and force them to watch the oh-so-entertaining programs. Maybe only then, they might yank the plug on this whole TV mobile shit and lower the transportation costs. So what is your opinions on the TV mobile ad starring Benjamin Heng of Eating Air fame? The most eagerly anticipated movie of this festive season has to be Man Cheng dont know what what Jia starring Chow Yun Fatt and Gong Li. Given the ample amount of heaving bosoms in this movie, I'm going to refer this movie as the "Neh Neh Show" rather than its official title. I'm so looking forward to watching it. And here's another reason why Gong Li is a better actress than Zhang Ziyi. Oh, did I mention 杨乃文's (Faith Yang) new album 女爵 kick ass? Poor Guo Mei Mei. She must has offended some music industry bigwigs to be consign to singing dumb cutesy ditties for her entire music career. 老鼠爱大米 (Lao Su Ai Da Mi) was followed by that irritating cockroach song, 不怕不怕啦 (Bu Pai Bu Pai). Now she's made to assume the role of Grinch by ruining our Christmas by greeting us with her Melly Melly Klismas whenever we stepped into the MRT station. Still on the topic of poor Guo Mei Mei, my mum commented that she looks scary with her bigger than a toydoll's pair of eyes. Donno if she can shoot lasers from her eyes or not ah.. My colleague promised me that I will tear with joy when I open her Xmas gift. Yes, I indeed teared upon unwrapping her gift, not with joy but with a sense of disbelief that I actually received a pair of boxers for my first Xmas gift. I would had been elated if it was from some young nubile chicks, and not a mother of two. Since Christmas is all about sharing and loving, do make a trip to the Bloodbank for donation if you do not faint at the sight of blood or needles as the blood supply held is known to fall during the festive season. Santa might actually reward you for being such a kind and generous soul and pay a visit with his red - nosed reindeer. Random Picture of the Day Beaut(ies) and the Beast, circa 2006.

1. It's probably easier to spot Thai lady boys cuddling with unsuspecting (or so I hope) Caucasians in the city area past midnight than sighting a cab that isn't ON CALL or occupied.
2. Empty the bladder before heading home after the night out. You never know how long it will take to reach home, considering the point mentioned above. Unless you fancy practicing regulating your breathing on the cab, trying hard to suppress the bladder from imploding. Random Picture of the Day My wish for 2007, written on this ball at the Esplanade. Of course it's a lie, but writing "A sexual romp with Lin Zhiling" under the watchful gaze of the event organizers takes courage.

14th Dec. First pay check. First time I'm giving allowance to my parents. Immense feelings.
But 3 weeks into the job, I feel that I need a new challenge. Maybe I can be Captain Planet, the crusader for nature conservatism.

I shall let the pictures (taken with yc's DSLR) do most of the talking. NBS Alumni Christmas celebration at Harry's Bar. At least my eyes weren't shut this time round. Table. Balls. And two smiling ladies in the background. The obligatory chio bu picture.

As part of my company's initiative to promote a friendly culture, the CEO ordered smiley balloons for the entire workforce, hoping the smile on the balloons can rub off to the staff force. Whether the initiative is successful is still up in the air, but it certainly make the workplace a livelier place to be.

Wubai's latest MV, 你是我的花朵. It's just like watching a cheesy C grade flick, it's so bad yet it still manages to captivate you with its corniness and bad acting.
Of course, it doesn't take much time for bored Taiwanese tertiary students to spoof it.

Ikea, everybody's favourite Swedish icon, became the first of the three mega stores (the other two being Courts and Giant) to open at the industrial area which is a stone throw away from the Tampines town centre. Besides providing an alternative shopping venue for Tampines dwellers like myself, it will also boost the property values in the area. Ka-Ching $$. Given the intensive media blitz over the past two months, my curiosity got the better of me as James, yc and myself headed down yesterday to find out what's the buzz is all about. After the horrendous 30 minutes bus ride, I finally set foot on the promised land! Boy oh boy, the building is HUGE! More than twice the size of the Alexandra building. We were stopped by the ushers as we were making our way into the main floor area. The crowd was apparently so huge that Ikea has to exact crowd controls to prevent overcrowding. Okay, now I understand the rationale behind the crowd control measures. Even the fearsome duos from Man United took time off from training to soak in the carnival-like atmosphere at Ikea. Nightmare for the weight conscious. Look at the size of those racks in the self help area!
Guess what are they queuing for? The famed Ikea hotdogs! Pure madness! The recurrent theme in this entry is about crowd, huge huge crowd. So unless you enjoy getting squeeze, avoid visiting Ikea Tampines until the hype dies down. Ikea, on their part, has done a good job in handling the crowd size. My only grouse, the lack of staff controlling the queue for the free shuttle bus. In the absence of crowd control, some people blatantly ignored the existing queue and resulted in a total anarchy when the shuttle bus arrived. Typical ugly Singaporean behavior. To borrow an expression from fmq, pfft! Random Youtube Video of the Day Eason Chan's 我什么都没有. Notice how he cries like a baby at the end of the song.Mind you this MV was shot in 1998 or 1999, way before the whole "emo" subculture was in place.
